How does a buyer purchase an item using the Shopping Cart on my website?
When a buyer wishes to purchase an item from your website, he will click on the "Add to Cart" button next to the item. This button will launch a new web browser with a secure page hosted by PayPal displaying the contents of his Shopping Cart. Here, he can change the quantity of the item, continue shopping, remove items from the cart, or check out. If he clicks to continue shopping, he will be taken back to the web browser your website. From here, he can view his shopping cart by clicking another "Add to Cart" button to purchase another item, or by clicking on the "View Cart" button. If he clicks to check out, he will be directed to enter his credit card, shipping information, and email address.
Once he has submitted this information, you will be sent an email informing you of the purchase with the buyer's email address and shipping information, and your PayPal account will be credited with the total amount of the purchase minus transaction fees. The buyer will then be sent back to the URL you specified. During the purchase process, the buyer is not directed into the PayPal site, but uses secure PayPal pages.
